Kid locked in gun safe

I remember back in the 80s, I saw young boy who accidentally locked himself in an old refrigerator that was being thrown away during a game of hide and seek.
He was running out of air and was suffocating, and no one could find him.

But eventually he was found and resuscitated. It was a very close call.

It could have been a tragic day for everyone, but luckily Punky Brewster saved the day.

Does that line sound really dumb to anyone else? Do you know how much mischief I could find in 5 minutes as a kid?

5 minutes IS VERY long in any cases where you "turn your back" while watching a kid. "Turn your back" usually means a few seconds. 5 minutes is a 1/2 mile run for some peolpe.

I was told I was pretty compliant as a kid, because I knew the value of money at a young age and because my dad and mom were very very very liberal with the bamboo cane if u know what I mean.

are you all insane - it's not the parents fault. it's the gun safes fault. if the gun safe wasn't there he wouldn't of been able to lock him self in it. i suggest a class action law suit against all large safe manufactures. after we win that one - let's go after the refrigerator market. those bastards at GE had it coming.

edit: we need to also place blame on the person who invented the game "hide and seek". dangerous game. they must take responsibility for what they have caused.

Ya, I am thinking that they will sue so that a kid can not get locked in a safe and like the refrigerator they will remove the locking mechanism so that we end up being able to only get a gunsafe without evil features like not being over four foot tall, else a child can get into it, and without a lock, else a child can get locked in it, and without a large pistol grip like handle that a child can easily manipulate to lock his evil sibling in the safe then run away and when asked swear to his parents that he has no idea where his brother Timmy is.


Then after a couple of years some smart ar$e CalGunner will see some obscure court case then cite it as legally accepted opinion for the courts in that so long as your safe has no more than one of the evil features,... and we will end up having a couple hundred threads called off list safes (OLS) then the DOJ raids the owner of this forum and warns him about encouraging such and says we have our eye on you........ so he lets the forum go to pot..... so someone opens one called gunscal.net until some brave soul agrees to take the old forum over and builds it back up to what it was,......until another smart ar$e CalGunner figures out what the next Off List Whatever will be.

I hear it is going to be the outdoor barbecue, especially for those in the South, where hi capacity grills are outlawed during spare the air day. There is some talk about a permanently attached grill that allows only 10 square inches of barbecue space that can easily be popped out with the fork button.

As I said before this might not be such a bad idea, getting a safe to lock the kids inside and keeping the guns outside. Much more user friendly that way you could leave your guns strewn about the house at strategic firing points and keep them loaded. That is what I am thinking of when I hear child proof safe.
