Dang. I was doing a 4473 the other day and commented to the clerk that since I was finally starting to get used to the new 2-page version, the ATF would probably be putting out another revised version any time now. Why can't I be this good at picking the lottery numbers?

I believe they are just adding/altering the wording in 11f.
        Section A

Question 11.f. The revised question reads as follows:

“Have you ever been adjudicated mentally defective (which includes a determination by a court, board, commission, or other lawful authority that you are a danger to yourself or to others or are incompetent to manage your affairs) OR have you ever been committed to a mental institution?”

        Definitions

Both “Adjudicated as a Mental Defective” and “Committed to a Mental Institution” as defined in 27 CFR 478.11 were added to the Definitions section,

The definition of “Misdemeanor Crimes of Domestic Violence” was revised to include “tribal” offenses committed under “tribal law” in order to incorporate the provisions of the Violence Against Women Act and Department of Justice Reauthorization Act of 2005 (P. L. 109-162).
September 1st it goes into effect and the July 2005 forms go into el trasho!

            LOL!

What has always confused me is no abbreviations are allowed but you can write N/A for the non-citizen stuff.

They can change the test all they want as long as the answer key stays the same

If your talking about #12 ...we always have people leave it blank.. but yeah quite the confusing question.

I've also become accustomed to defining what the word "renounced" means in regards to citizenship lol

The BATF website should have the new one or maybe another source.

                Ill do a search.

I found this site but it seems he only has the PDF forms for title 2 weapons.

So is the answer "not yet" considered acceptable?

This is correct. The changes are super minor and are a direct result of Virginia Tech.

I just got my new box of 1000 4473s in today. I just got a new box not too long ago so if any of you want some of the old forms as a souvenir, let me know.

So everyone do your gun dealers a favor. On September 1, check for yourself that your form says May 2007 at the bottom and ask your FFL if they made the change. You could save yourself and them a lot of work if you start filling it out on the wrong one.
www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.
