A buddy just got back from a 4-day class, and he said chapstick and a hat with a good brim all around (not just a baseball cap) are important. The back of his neck and his ears got roasted.

And make sure you bring enough ammo because if you have to buy any from them, their prices are outrageous.

Serpas are not banned. You just need to disable the button. You can do this by inserting something that locks the button in the depressed position. A piece of paper will do this and its temperary. It takes all of 3 seconds.

FS did this due to three mullets with no experience shooting themselves in the leg trying to present their weapons too fast before they had the skill to do so. However, many other schools banned Serpas a year or two ago for the same reason. FS didnt jump on the band wagon until some of their students screwed the pooch.

It should also be noted that these NDs were with single action autos like 1911s and Xds....Glocks. My 226s or 220 are double/singles and would never dis anyone like that....

Ok, Recomendations? I just returned from a 4 day SG class. Take a back up gun that functions the same as the primary. I screwed myself by having a mossberg auto for primary and a remington 870 for back up. I paid for it!

Re discussion of athletic tape/band-aids - would thin gloves work as well/better?

^ they would save you some trouble but in my head, I wanted to train/hold the pistol as I would outside of a controlled environment.
