So if I confronted a thief and he pulls a knife, stabs me then I am still not legally allowed to protect myself with deadly force? I am the victum, not the insane criminal.
25 mins?? Where do you live that they only take 25 minutes? I stopped waiting for the police the show up years ago. I once caught a burglar attempting to steal my car. The cop said did you shoot him and I said, no. He said if I did I would have gone to jail and if the person was still there they could press charges on me for drawing down on them with my weapon since obviously they didn't have one...I always thought if they did they weren't gonna risk it by pulling it out while a gun is drawn on them. He ran away and I didn't wanna shoot in the back (I figured instant jail!)

Tell me about it! I sold my R6 to my friend last December. He calls me in February and says the bike got stolen! I said Idiot you didn't leave it outside did you? He said it was the first time he left it out and was dead tired...I told him a lot of good your pitbulls did you! You can't let those bikes out of your sight for a minute...I would get paranoid just going to the movies.

Geez, we really do live in a state that protects the criminals more than the innocent victums of crimes. A criminal presses charges against you for stopping him from stealing your car. I wonder how that would work with pepper spray or a taser.

Yea, you have the right to own or if you have a ccw(carry one), but in good ole California you don't really have the right to use it. The laws have gotten to the point that they seem to only protect the criminals, the laws abiding citizen is s**t out of luck. This is one of the reasons our prisons of so damm full. Face it crime is big business in liberal California.

Get legal pepper spray and a taser. Both legal, read the laws. When confronting a bad guy, a thief, they will try to kick your butt. At that point unleash your spray and taser on the dude. It's better than nothing.

I'd also have my handgun hidden incase it came to that. Non lethal defense is good to have in your favor.

There is no way an average guy (non-LEO) could do this in CA.

California law empowers peace officers to use lethal force to protect themselves and others from threats of death and great bodily injury, Mosler noted in his ruling
