It's on BLM land I believe. Yes, it is right next to the road, and unsupervised, and the locals are hardcore inbred hillbillies, but shoot away from the road into the hillside, don't dress fancy and clean up after yourself and you'll be fine. The road isn't that heavily traveled, and those that use the road are used to occasional gunfire coming from the pit.

Oh, and if Sierra Glenn is open when you're out there, stop by and get some yummy baked goods and cider.

He said BLM. For you, from Twain Hart, Big Hill is just as far, if not further than open forest near you. There are places very close to your location, the road to Mt. Provo is the closest, 2 or 3 miles. Call the Forest Service in Me-wok and ask them for a place to shoot. Once again, get a map. PAX
