    Ruger 1911 - Finally Here

Just what we need, another 1911.

Series 70 design, no available in CA?

No... this is awesome. With a MSRP of $799 we can finally buy an american made, high quality, series 70, M1911 from a major manufacturer for less than 1000 bucks. The only thing it seems to lack is front-strap checkering/lines.

I'm wondering if it meets all the CA certified criteria. States it has the loaded chamber indicator, what about mag disconnect? Would this be required?

Single Shot Exemption. Roster doesn't matter. I'm going to get one.

I'm just curious about all the 1911 type guns being offered in CA. Do any need to have the safe features before being submitted for testing? Does Kimber, RIA, DW, LB, etc have these features?
What am I missing, Inquiring minds want to know?

Ok for those of us that want a Ruger 1911 in CA. we need to start E-mailing Ruger to find out when its coming to CA. Hopefully if they see enough interest it might make it out here. I know that being the Ruger nut that I am I WANT ONE.

Its not, only through Single Shot transfers.

Trust me, you DONT want Ruger to make that thing CA compliant.

                    Here is my 2 cents:
1911 that were offered for sale by Kimber, RIA, DW, LB had submitted their guns for approval prior to the mag disconnect and load chamber laws went into effect. Thank God for that. Now, if Ruger submits theirs, it would have to be modified from the original series 70 designed by adding the chamber indicator and mag disconnect. In essence "neutering" a great design. I hope they do submit one, but please make the load chamber indicator like the Springfield Armory 1911.

Single shot exemption. no need for the roster, too many internal changes would be needed.

They don't need to submit it for testing for anyone in CA to get one.

Yea... Screw the roster. I don't want a neutered one. Single shot exemption means you don't have to worry about the roster "safety" (snort) features. When is the DOJ just going to give up on they idiotic thing and bury it...

The mandatory re-testing every 2 years is a revenue generator. They won't abandon it unless the court or legislation throws it out.

As I'm certain Ruger is making a nice 1911, I have no desire to want one, as there are enough 1911 choices out there. Besides, my 1911 platform choice has always been Colt.
