He knew what he was doing, how can you not know your broadcasting live on television. All reporters embedded with military units are given a non-disclosure briefing.

In 2002 or something he was shot at in Afghanistan. I think he also had a .45 on him in case he found bin laden.

I also recall a previous incident where he embellish that he was under fire. He was being video taped as he hunkered down but in the background someone was standing up (as in we are not taking fire and it is safe to stand up) looking at him with a bewildered look.

Keep in mind that I'm not defending him I'm stating that, "I don't know so I'm asking."

A simple statement stating WHY you think he's a douche would suffice.

          Seriously though...relax

Wasn't he the one that got in trouble a while back for explaining an attack on international television? He gave away their position or something like that.

Geraldo was one of the earlier daytime talk-show hosts dealing in sensationalist white-trash tv. Jerry Springer probably took lesson from him.

In 1987, Rivera began producing and hosting the daytime talk show Geraldo, which ran for 11 years. The show featured controversial guests and theatricality, which led to the characterization of his show as "Trash TV" by Newsweek and two United States senators.[22] One of the early shows was titled "Men in Lace Panties and the Women Who Love Them". His nose was broken in a well-publicized brawl during a 1988 show, involving white supremacists, anti-racist skinheads, black activists, and Jewish activists.

I remember his 'I was attacked by skinheads' in a public restroom incident. He beat himself up and drew a swastika on his forehead... backwards and no one else was seen in the area. He intentionally drew out military plans of attack on live TV. He should be abandoned overseas and barred from re-entry into the USA.

Real smart wearing a white shirt. Why not paint a target on his shirt. I guess he still hasn't learned.

I have a can of red paint, I'm down to paint one on his shirt.

Maybe they dislike him too. Didn't they prove his broken nose incident was staged but improperly exicuted resulting in him actually being injured?

I remember seeing him in a hidden video playing a drug purchaser under cover for some LE sting. The dealer kept saying something like, " Man, you sure look like Geraldo Riverra. Are you sure your not Geraldo Riverra?". I thought Geraldo was going to wet himself. It wasnt very convincing to me when he tried to act tough to get the dealer off his case, but I guess he got points for not saying "Mommy!"

Then, there was the infamous Jerry Springerish talk show of his. My favorite was the show where he baited the white supremists folks he had on and took a chair to his face. There was absolutely no doubt that his nose got broken either. That Klanster power swung that chair like a pro! That was classic and I laughed my *** off. This was during sweeps and I think his rating jumped something like 11 points IIRC.

I never really cared for him so never paid all that much attention. But he probably did teach springer a few things about sleazy talk show TV.

Yeah. Id have to agree. Geraldo is pretty much a douche.
