    The guns of "Rango"

The new animated movie with Jonnie Depp and Ned Beatty has some very well realized small arms in them (except for the SAA with the swing out cylinder!) and even has a cartridge with PMC .45 Colt on the base! A real surprise for an animated movie. This is a seriously demented movie and very, very funny. It has elements of 'High Noon" and "Chinatown" and a Clint Eastwood sound alike even makes an apprearance. My teenage son and I saw it today and I laughed so hard in spots I had tears. Go see it!

    I LOVED Rango!

I also noticed the PMC on the spent casing

Really? You guys thought it was funny? Maybe I just didn't "get it" but I was very disappointed.

So the movie went as far as to insinuate the fact that there are Korean reptiles that make ammo?

Well, I don't see many cartoons...but comparing it to "UP" and "Cars" I didn't find it that entertaining...and I only chuckled 2 or 3 times the entire movie...the quality of animation was excellent tho...

Dang near shot myself during the movie. Told my baby sis (that i took to it) that it was the last time, THE LAST TIME, we watch a cartoon in theaters. Don't remember smiling even once, and i LOVE cartoons. Just terrible...maybe i was having an off day but just didn't see any real humor

Best part of the movie was the "Fear and Loathing" part in the beginning.. where he fly's from car to car.

I'm not entirely sure that it was supposed to be a comedy. I felt it was a western with occasional comic elements.
Unfortunately, our society seems to associate animation with children and/or comedy. I'm looking forward to the day when high quality animated features cover all the genres and are accepted as such.
Of course part of that might just be job security as I'm in the business of making them. Either way, I was glad to see Rango targeting an older audience.
