Isn't this place run by a chiropractor turned Scientologist turned self-proclaimed "Four Weapons Combat Master" and is being sued for all sorts of shady business practices? SWAT magazine refused to review the courses because Front Sight wanted assurances the article would be positive, or approval of the article before publishing.

One way or the other.... all you may loose is the $50 background check fee...

I will go out and check this place out, I had been shooting IDPA/IPSC for quite sometime now, I hoped that they can actually teach me something that I don't know... if not, at least, I will have a couple of free range days... and I can get to shoot my AR *in the free America* format!!

I'd hope that after my course, I'll come out with a "negative" review..... and let's see if they can "reverse" my presumption!

A few friends and I posted the links on newly created blogs. We received e-mails back stating that the certificate will be mailed soon.

I asked about the M16 select fire class, and they said it would be $700 for the 2000 rounds.

Bingo! By the way, I'd be careful with the rappelling course. They had a guy die a very scary and violent death right in front of his family at the 4th of July BBQ.

I heard the guy is running some sort of real estate scheme trying to sell home sites to all the people that come through. Whether or not you decide to go to F$, don't fall for that one.

Myself and another calgunner are going to the practical rifle class starting Sept. 7th. If anyone else is planning on going to that particular class let me know. There isn't a lot of time for socializing, but there will be some.

So, did you guys already get a hotel? I'm not planning to take a class for at least a few months, but I'm wondering what's the closest place to stay and their rate.

As for hotel, try Saddle West or Nugget. Think they're both ~$55. Nugget's newer/better but Saddle West is closer. Not sure if there's any preferred/pkg/discount rates.

Im glad everyone got their free certificates, and yes, these are better than the ones on Ebay. Ive been to FS a few times and enjoyed each visit.

As for the real estate thing, FS is set up to become a gated community with private schools, shopping, etc etc. Whether that happens or not, is anyones guess, Thats how I actually first found out about it. Dr. Piatza tries to sell you on the first family memberships, and he usually talks person to person with you, so dont be surprised. He talks to you and not at you, which is really nice. If it ever gets finished, then hell yea, I would probally move out there, what better safer neighborhood can you think of? As for problems, he did have zoning issues, but as far as I know, those were in the process of being resolved. (Something to do with building the elementary school too close to the machine gun backstop. . . . .JK! )

So when are we going to plan a huge Cal-guns shoot guys?
