dang, you guys are there at 9am? here I was planning to sleep in, drink coffee, and generally be really lazy about it... being Saturday and all. At that rate though there won't be anything left except Makarov ammo by the time I hit it.

So... no Calguns shirt - doing blue jeans and white shirt and loafers, don't wanna be mistake for a Newsom idiot; but if you see a native american looking guy with long black hair, that should belong on a Japanese guy... then thats me aka Mutant. I'll have my 16 year old son with me too, although he looks more Persian than anything else, but since no one knows what a Persian looks like... call him a white guy - sorta.

Most likely Saturday ~ 10am... gotta find some 7.62x54 surplus, maybe a handgun, maybe more longarms... maybe just buy a ticket to annoy Newsom, and eat overpriced hamburgers and soda.

Another thread on calguns today got many reply posts indicating many Pro2A folks are thinking about "showing Support" and attempting to discredit Newsom and his mob by ridiculing him and his hoplophobic cohorts. The AGENT PROVACATEURS who show up at the Cow Palace and impose themselves upon your group are going to portray themselves as racist, violence-prone extremists with all the bells and whistles guaranteed to get media attention and discredit you: Swatikas, Confederate Flags, shaved heads and combat boots and BDU's. These are PAID AGENTS. They will attempt to CAUSE TROUBLE and will probably SUCCEED in provoking one of you. They have a lot of EXPERIENCE. The other side has LOTS OF MONEY. Don't do what they do. Public political demonstrations as a tactic belongs to them. If you try to use it against them, they WILL WIN. By the way, ask your ammo vendor about the "Cow Palace Tax" before you complete your bulk ammo purchase. Don't be surprised if your jaw drops when you find out how much you are paying per round.

... We need to do something about that.

I guess I won't go out of my way to be nice to skinheads. Not that I normally do.

it's ok man, I'm still drinking coffee @ 10am, I'll let Mutant and all these other guys go deal with the skinheads before I show up. it's kinda like sending in the Cav Scouts ahead of the main deployment...

I just got back from the show. I had to make an early trip up there as I need to go in to work today. I was able to cruise the whole show in about 30 minutes. It seems to be getting smaller and smaller every time I go. The couple of rows of tables that are usually to the far left as you walk in were not there.

The only real big draw to the show was Miwall. The 1000 rd. Golden Tiger 7.62x39mm that ammoman has for $179 shipped they were selling for $189. 1000 rds PMC .223 for $289 (i think).

I didn't see any protesters aside from the NRA guys protesting that the show attendees didn't sign up or renew NRA membership (I ended up joining.)

                      miwall reloads

yep, i noticed the price hikes too. With the miwall .223 reloads at $260/1000rds, it's getting closer to the factory new. that's .26 per round.
Two weeks ago, i saw some factory guat 5.56 at tabors for .28 per round.

I'm looking at my Miwall Corp receipt from this morning.

                        1000rds 7.62x39 FMJ $189.95
                        Sub Total 189.95
                        Cow Palace Tax 15.67

                        Total $205.62

It appears that "Cow Palace Tax" is just 8.25% Sales Tax. Please tell me if I'm missing something?

Just came back from the gun show, if you can even call it that. Without CWS being there, I wasn't able to blow my load as expected. Beef jerky was good. Ammo prices weren't anything special. Lots of flea market specials. No protesters. 1 reporter w/Filipino channel. All in all, not worth the visit unless in the area.

Haha, I bought ammo from a different vendor than Miwall. The 7.62x25 I got was labeled $12, I spent $12 per box (Romanian at 72 rounds/box ), got some other stuff, all prices I paid were as-labeled. Then again... maybe it's cause I used cash.

Russian Golden Tiger 124 gr FMJ 7.62/39 for $179.00 per 1000 free shipping from Ammoman unless Russian ammo is a problem. The sales tax % is probably based on San Francisco rather than San Mateo County.

Well... not much to say about the show... no protesters... no CWS... not a whole lot of anything...

So I got good deals on flashlights, and a free knife for my son... Ok, and bought a little bit of 7.62x54 Hungarian at mediocre pricing.

Ho hum... is the age of the gun show, kinda like the age of the newspaper?
