Here is some more info. Seems like the stories are going this way and that way with nobody knowing the truth.

Yea, I am not really sure. I think the problem is that word has it their were only two people in the garage when the incident occurs, and now one of the two is dead. So who knows if they'll ever really no what happened in those last few minutes. My guess is that Armstrong made a statement the night of the incident and after the autopsy it was determined that things did not happen exactly how he described based on the evidence, but that is just a guess.

That's a good thought. Probably right now is not the best time, but I do contribute to the newsletter, and maybe I'll throw something in their about firearms safety for the next edition.

I don't know how you could word it properly to appeal to the masses. You can't just state facts, but if you get into the story of the accidental death and how 10 minutes of firearms safety training could have prevented it, then you might be on the right track. Maybe make a phone number or email address available for people to ask questions on where to go, rant, or anything else they want to say.

The term "Homicide" includes all types of death investigations from pre-meditated murder to a lawful intervention. My educated guess is because of the alcohol involvement this would be a Manslaughter case and not a murder per se.

No, the term homicide is when one human kills another human, whether intentionally or not is irrelevant.

What a sad situation, booze and guns just spell trouble. Same as drinking and driving.

So two guys are inside a garage at midnight, one supposedly is giving the other one a haircut, then alcohol got involved, then one eventually got shot in the chest.

                Hmmmmmmmm..............

Exactly!! I have never point my guns at another, then he had to pull the trigger.

My friends at work think guns will fire on their own. That's what people don't know anything about gun believe. I bet that is why they think gun kills instead of people.

Actually I only started collecting Milsurps 3 years ago. I think I might own about 24...They're cheaper than guns that will most likely never get the opportunity to kill somebody...

That is exactly what I said but if you would like me to break it down even further and into grade schools terms I can.

Back on topic: Unsafe/negligent gun handling can be seen daily at any range. Details of this particular scenario are vague at best. Without speculating, there could be any number of reasons why an arrest occurred.

This is sad indeed. In the atricle it said “It was definitely a shoulder-style rifle and a rifle round.” I was dering what kind of rifle isnt fired from the shoulder?

It sounds like he said they had both been drinking, and/or witnesses said they had both been drinking. Thus, "accident" or not, it would not be any different than a DUI. Involuntary Manslaughter? Still murder. Even as a negligent discharge, with the drinking involved, and lack of basic firearm safety and handling, they may have arrested him on those basic principles.

By the way, an earlier article noted it was an AR. And it sounds to me like the guy that was shot was not a gun enthusiast or gun owner. Maybe just indifferent to guns and his "friend" was showing him his AR for the gee-whiz factor - and screwed up big time.

I can see an A/D occurring while cocktailing and showing off your guns late at night. What I can't see is how one 'accidentally' points a rifle at someone in a small space and pulls the trigger......
