Sac. area gunshop bait & switch?

I don't want to throw the name out there (yet), because I don't want to bad mouth a shop for a legitamate mistake...

...however this is twice now in a matter of three months that I have specifically driven to the gunstore, (virtually impossible to get them to answer the phone) and the gun ad online including the Name, Picture, and Gun description does NOT match the sku# on the model of gun on the wall.

Basicly, it would be like if you saw an ad on-line for a Z06 Corvette; and then when you got to the dealership, they tell you that the sku# actually is for the stripped down base model Corvette.

The first time this gun store did this, they tried to "up-sale" me to a completely different manufacturer, and I felt like I was at a car dealership. The second time happened today, and they simply said " ya, thats not the one we have for sale, the web guy must have screwed up".

I understand that mistakes happen, but twice now for the same thing? I can also understand if the picture doesn't always match the description; but the model name, description, and pic.?

Anyways, I might not have even posted this if they would have "fixed" thier on-line ad like they said they were going to , but they haven't.

-I just don't want other people to waste their time and gas like I have TWICE.

The first time it happened (a couple months ago), I made them honor their ad only after having them treat me like I was on a used car lot. They made no effort to honor it on their own, initially.

-This time I didn't want to be "nit-picky", and let it go, but the more I got thinking about it, and after not seeing the ad pulled down... I am wondering how many others this might be happening to.

I guess technically they should honor this latest ad... however i'm not out to try and "get one over" on anyone; but I don't think it is right if they are doing this to other people as well.

it could be a ploy to get people in the shop, or it could merely be incompetence...either way its not a great way to get attention.

Doesn't sound like a fair mistake...

Have them sell you the correct item or give you a cash difference...

It is completely against the law if true.

Out 'em and vote with your wallet.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

Tell the shop and ad info. And everyone in the area go down and make them honor the ad. I'll bet they quit doing that.

I had a similar issue with a Sac area dealer as well. They listed on this very site CMMG stripped ar15 lowers for $99.95 so I drove all the way out there to buy one and when I got there they insisted it was a mistake but they would sell me one at $139.99

Apparently you do, since you aren't naming the shop.

Isn't that illegal? Last I heard, you must honor the advertised or shelf posted price.
With all this "gun control" talk, I've not heard one politician say how they plan on taking guns from criminals, just law abiding Citizens.
