new AK BB lock + AK pistol

Built on an AK-Builder flat...fully heat treated and parkerized. I made the gas block, gas tube, and handguard from scratch.

The lock is made from a piece of square tubing and does not require any permanent modifications to the gun. It is held on by two screws that tighten up against the trigger guard. Ignore those two extra holes on each side, I messed up. Just slide whatever tool you want to use forward through the slot to release the mag.

Oh yea, best part of building a pistol: no 922r compliance required!

Loop the sling around your shoulder and hold the gun out. You can grasp either the handguard, the front of the magazine, or have both hands on the pistol grip the same way you'd hold a normal pistol. The sling makes a huge difference, and is the next best thing to having a stock.

Oh if you're referring to the lack of a rear sight...well, this thing isn't built for accuracy.

I'll put a rear sight on my next build, which will have several improvements. But I'm gonna take a break from building for now and go shoot this little beast. Still have yet to test it, so let's hope it doesn't blow up in my hands mmkay?

You can make a handgun in CA, there is no drop testing requirement unless you are manufacturing one

the diference being that a gun you 'make' cannot be transfered to anyone in this state.

The barrel is 5.3" long so I had to cut about an inch off of the bolt carrier and the recoil spring. The piston is made out of 304 stainless and just press fitted into the carrier.

I didn't think you could have a pistol with the magazine outside the handguard, are those considered assault weapons by the PRK?
