Another Evans story! It just keeps getting better!

So I walk into Evans a couple days ago to look around as I havent been there forever.....I look at the Ar15's and the guy working the counter says you are looking at the only california AR15....I smile at him and dont say anything.

It looks like they are using S & W mp's to seal the magwells now and not the colts or bushmasters (I forget what they used to use) they were using before how funny...

So Im looking at a M & P 15T model with a welded shut mag hole and am looking at the TROY rail that comes on it. The guy asks can I answer any questions for you...I said naw Im just looking at the troy rail as Ive never seen one in person. He then says it isnt a troy rail but a Daniel Defense rail....I told him he was mistaken and know for a fact it was a troy rail....He kept fighting with me so I told him he was wrong and left....At that time there was like 5 people there....

They really are idiots arent they!

if you do not tanke the tome to be an enthusiest, you are always going to pay more... did you see the price?? probably ~$2,200.00 but hey, if you just want to pick up an ar and not do all the investigation...well go ahead and get one from E.S.W. it probably is a nice setup. he used to sell bushmaster and colt...until he ffound out that even with the magwell weilded up and a letter from iggy, they still are illegal

They are using the S&W's because they are actually off list, unlike the Colts and Bushys.

Are you saying that BoF has posted something stating that all lower receivers from a listed manufacturer are illegal regardless of model number?

No. However, BoF took the position that for Evans and only Evans, one could take a rifle out of banned by make and model prohibition by welding the magazine well closed. They are sorely wrong on the law however.

Ok, thanks. Some of the OLL history prior to my interest is still a little foggy to me, but I like to be straight on the laws and the trends in how they're being interpreted. Although that seems to be as time consuming as BRD itself

If they're that rude and stupid, why not take a stack of OLL flyers and hand them out to people going in? I'm usually pretty chill on pushing OLLs at gun stores -- unless the person behind the counter is completely wrong and feeding bad info. But this sounds like the perfect place to do some activism. The fact that IC crowned them makes it sound so much worse.

I don't think that would be a good place to try some activism. His main customer base is LE and they think he's great. LE are the only people he won't talk SH-T to.

Does Evan have some connection to the DOJ? Get some sort of preferential treatment in regard to their 'approval'?
