The G22 will be for Duty carry. That's why i'm looking for the right Glock to carry off duty. My thoughts are that if the G23 is the same as the G27 with the extension I may as well go 23.

If you carry a G22 on duty, the G23 will be a natural transition. This would be my recommendation. However, you may end up getting a G27 eventually too just because you can.

Then for your purposes, it's G27 all the way. You already have the G22, which is the best of the three at the range, and the G27 is the most concealable. The G23 is so you can have the best of both...(Or when you already have the 22 & 27 and have a need for a third one )

The G27 is versatile because you can run the regular floor plate mag for CCW, and have the extended for range time or HD

I also have a new extended floor plate that's bigger than the one in the pics

Also consider that if you carry extra mags with you, then those can be extended while the one in the G27 is the flat one.

The only reason to own a 27 is for summer CC. If its a range HD gun then buy a 22.
Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.

"Duty gun" . . . "Off-duty carry" . . .. Sounds like you're not subject to the 10 rd mag limit. Go G27 with no extension if you can shoot it ok and carry a standard cap G22 mag (or two) in your pocket.

I think you buy the 23 and chop it down to 27 grip length. Then you get the better IWB concealment of the 27 with the sight radius of the 23, and the ability to use 23 mags.

May or may not work for you, but Thats what i'm in the process of doing.

                Just wanted add,

                The 23 will Print.
I've tried everything with mine and it still prints with my clothing style.

The 27 with the extension is very close to the same size as the 23 on only one part of the hand grip, other than that its not the same size at all.
If you laid a 27 on top of a 23 you would see how much more compact the 27 is.

The other thing is the 27 with a fully loaded magazine is much lighter than the 23 with a fully loaded magazine. The extra weight, depending on what your doing will be noticed if your carrying for days at a time.

To be honest.....I shoot my 27's better without the extension.
All said, I like both models and own 2 of each.

BTW, the recoil on the 27 is nearly the same as the 23.
You can hardly tell the difference.

These pics are great! Can you stack the G27 with extended floor plate on top of the G23 for size comparison?

Thanks for the reply, this is actually the information I am looking for. I wondered if the G27 would be lighter and less printing than the G23.
