    Glock 23 vs 27

Hi, I'm new here. So hey.

I am struggling with the purchase of a Glock 23 or 27. If I got a 27 I would go with the grip extension on the mag.

I've heard that when you add the extension on the mag you pretty much have the same height as the Glock 23.

Does anyone have any comparison pics or measurements on the height of each or pics to compare both together?

I Love my Glock 23. There have been some people not liking that mag extension because it pinches your finger(s). feel both of them and you pick!

      Here are the technical specs:
      27: http://www.glock.com/english/glock27_tech.htm

      23:

I'll tell you right now, the 27 is much more comfortable to carry without a grip extension, and if you need the grip extension, and it's always going to be on there, get the 23.

If this is a carry gun, get the 27 if you can shoot it well. If this is going to be mainly a fun range gun, get the 23 for sure. It's taken me a while to learn to shoot my 27 well, but it's my carry gun.

I got a 23 for its compact, but not excessively small size. I bought it for HD and range time. Like others have said, if the primary role is CCW, then go with the 27. For anything else, go with the 23. I've held & shot my boss' 26 and even though I have medium hands, I felt it was a bit small for what I'd be using it for.

Shooting the 27 is fun, but really made for CCW. Get the G23...and then G27 later. Ha!

            Good luck with your decision.

The 27 for CCW. Even in VERY large hands it works well.

The G23 for shooting .40S&W is better IMO than the G27. You can also convert either to shoot 9mm with a conversion barrel and a Glock 9mm magazine.

I'd just go with a Glock 21. Why not have full power rounds that are more readily availible. But if your going to stick with the 40 get the glock 23. I conceal my glock 21 no problem, just have a paddle holster with a big shirt over it.

I have a couple of 23s and one 27 but I usually loan out the 23s at the range and shoot my 27. Very controllable even without the extensions. Love it and it's almost as concealable as my Rohrbaugh R9s but meach easier to shoot!

Why settle for a 21 when you can have a real weapon such as a 20?

The OP asked about .40 cal Glocks, not if you could conceal your Glock 21 with all it's power and might.
