Though it would be a good thread to see where people consign guns if they do so at all like I do occasionally and what rates different places charge, what rules they have, how fast they sell(hard to gauge though, depends on desireability of gun, price set, ect, ect.
I consign guns generally where I think they may sell. "Tactical" stuff may do better somewhere else and cowboy stuff somewhere else. Turners I think charges 25% but after like 60 days unless this has changed I think they can make you lower the price, not sure if they let you name a price either.
I was planning on consigning a gun at Grant Boys but they wanted 40%! No wonder the consignment case has been dry there. Flag used to charge 15%, I bet that changed especially since I have seen their astronomical prices at the gun shows.
LA Guns was like 25% I think but if they got told a lower price by a potential buyer I think they sometimes would say OK and take the reduction out of their cut in certain cases.
I personally usually do them at Western firearms on Gage and Atlantic, used to be 20% but recently changed to 25% though. You can ask a decent to high price though and usually get it if you wait. I sold a Plainfield M1carbine for $350 there though a $425 Russian SKS sat for a year and didn't sell though I admit that was high as was the Plainfield.
