Yup! I've seen holes in the ceiling, the dividers, and even BEHIND the firing line. Every indoor range I've been to, has these idiot marks.

Thankfully, I have never contributed to these collections.

My favorite is when I'm leaving the range and I let the RO know whats going on with the piss poor marksmanship and he says, "Really? Those guys are here all the time."

        No wonder there's so many!

Last time I was at the range all I had were my .22's.

I had to laugh when I noticed a 9mm hole in my target!

Had a friend shoot up a bunch of ceiling tiles at an indoor range. His brand new Kimber went full auto on him.

Funny thing is I had left the range for a bit. I came back and thought he was full of it. Only to witness it first hand as he took more out. Crazy!

This could be a new thread all by itself. You have never been to a range? Where do you shoot?

I've only been to 2 indoor ranges in my life, Shooter's paradise in Oxnard and the Agoura range (gone now) for a total of 3 or 4 visits. It's quite amazing where you'll find bullet holes. The last time I was at one was a week ago with my kids boy scout troop doing their rifle shoot (22's), a couple lanes down was someone shooting a larger caliber, maybe 45 judging by the size of the holes in their target. Target was at 15 feet and they were doing good just to get on paper......these were the BIG zombie girl targets!! In the meantime, my 10 year old was getting quarter sized 5 round groups all the way out with iron sights on a "chipmunk"

It always disturbs me when I see the bullet holes in the ceiling tiles just a couple of feet in front of the shooting stations at the range I go to. I have not been shooting handguns long(about a year) but even the first time I ever shot one I managed to keep all the shots down range and at least on the 2'x2' paper. The idea that someone can have so little knowledge that they shoot the tiles 5 feet in front of them and 4 feet above them is unsettling.

If I go to an indoor range for the first time, I make sure they are not holding any of those "first time shooter" classes when I intend to be there. Lots of those idiot holes come from those classes. One instructor trying to show 10 newbies at a time is a bit much to expect.
