    Conceal carried for first time.

Was in Oregon last week and thanks to Sheriff Palmer of Grant County I was able to carry.

Never thought my first gun purchase 7 years ago (Taurus PT145) would ever be used for CCW. Dumb luck I picked that model.

    Thanks again sheriff.

Do you have a Oregon CCW? If so was it difficult to get one?

Yes I do. I was able to get mine because Glenn Palmer (the sheriff of Grant County in Oregon) came down to the gun show at the Cow Place several months back. He was accepting apps for Oregon CCWs. Filled out the apps, did the Maryland online course, paid the fees, took a picture, and waited for it in the mail.

      Read this.

On the last page it's says the sheriff's next stops will be in So Cal.

Hard part for me was getting the ink off my fingertips.

A little over a month of waiting and $65.00, beats California any day.

Sometimes the law defends plunder and participates in it. Sometimes the law places the whole apparatus of judges, police, prisons and gendarmes at the service of the plunderers, and treats the victim -- when he defends himself -- as a criminal. Bastiat

Can you get a Oregon CCW here and then move there? I'm working on moving there in the next year, and it's harder to get one in Multonomah county compared to the rest of the state. If you could get it for sure beforehand that would be amazing.

You find out yet? If not, PM Sheriff Palmer of Grant County. He's here on the forums:

Oregon is Shall Issue, so its no harder for residents to get one in multonomah than anywhere else. That said, I belive the sheriff does have discretion over issuing non resident permits. Thats why getting a non res from the portland area can be a *****. There are a lot of guys who live in Vancouver, WA that commute across the bridge everyday, so there's a big demand for non res permits in multonomah county.

Side note, I have corresponded with the Sheriff Palmer and he is an awesome person, absolutely dedicated to the 2A and has a perspective on his duty as Sheriff that seems to be a rarity, especially in California. I look forward to going to Grant County to see him in person.
