cleaning multiple guns what do I need

i've just been using a bore snake on my 10/22 but I finally added some real firepower to my collection.

what do I need to get to clean all these so i'm not buying multiple kits.

    I have a saiga 12, AR's, a couple glocks and a 1911 on the way.

    thanks!

    Me personally....

I use a boresnake for each weapon. To clean small parts I use the 3 pack of nylon and brass brushes to get everything off.

    SOme rags and CLP.

    All my guns work great.

    Helps me keeo things simple

hoppes 9/break-free for carbon buildup, dry patches to soak the solution on (i use old rags and t-shirts i find around the house a lot of the time tho), and a thin coat of lube for rust protection and sheen. rem-oil is on the cheap but tend to dry quick. i like hoppes 9 oil better.

if I get this would I just need to add a .45 bronze bore brush for the 1911? I like that it's made n USA. We found my dads old Outers 12 gauge kit from 1964 or so and it's still usable!

I use the otis snake (basically a rod that bends) because I don't like cloth snakes.
I use small brushes and sometimes q-tips (the tighter they are wadded the better).
I use patches all over, not just the bore. Small disposable rags lol.
I use some solvent on the bore and CLP on everything else (modern).

C&Rs get special treatment, but you don't need to worry about that right now.

And wow, you upgraded your collection that much all at once? haha. Nice!

If you have enough guns to justify it:

I have one. Nothing cleans quicker or better.

haha yeah I actually bought 6 guns in a period of 7 days. I'd been wanting stuff for a long time and got a great deal on my G19 and 26 from David Tom (vendor on CGN), the saiga from PRK the day there was the scare, 2 RRA complete lowers and a calguns stripped lower.

saved on transfer fee's doing the guns at once!

I don't know how true it is, but they say you're not supposed to use a "metal" bore brush on Glocks, it can damage the barrel. They come with a nylon brush, so I just use it, no need for me to challenge "them" on it.

Rags, stainless or nylon brushes and break cleaner work great. Use Mobil 1 for lube, 10 times as much for half the price.

Bore burshes for pistol barrels are a waste. You really don't need to clean the bore, just the chamber. If you care, read pistol barrel maker Wil Schueman article.
                    where are my pistol mags?

One guy already said it but I love tightly wound q-tips. You can get in all the crevices, cracks, small spots and clean out the gummy crap. Put some hoppe's on it and use it like you would in the small spots in your ears.

Some guys are about buying the stuff to remove copper fouling but I don't shoot enough to require that stuff I believe.

Yeah. I actually love that nylon brush and the plastic stick. I use it on a lot of my guns.

I use bore snakes. but when I really want to clean them I use Wipe-out(great stuff and easy),brake clean spray,sweets7.62,tetra-gun solvent and oil/grease,RIGS grease, shooters choice, kroil oil(in the bore to lift build-up),one piece Dewey rods with plastic, bronze and SS brushes. I also have jags and LARGE bags of different size patches. I use Inhibitor oil to wipe the down and in the trigger/action with tetra-gun oil for the bore. I have cotton swabs for action work as well as plastic dental looking tools.

Notice I show no hoppies#9 as it is a waste of time compared to the other solvents.

I got the midway cleaning kit which is in a larger sized tackle box type of case. I do not use their solvent and such but it is a very organized system. It has brushes, jags, patches, swabs, picks, oil, solvent etc. I sometimes use the breakdown rods in the kit, usually for pistols.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

I know its blasphemy, But I dont clean my guns. My friend does. I've been thinking about starting. Do I need brushes for each different Caliber, length? Or is there such a thing as a ''universal.'' PS: Not to threadjack to the OP!
