Package stolen!!!

I have a friend who used to work for UPS. He told me that ammunition is the most stolen item out of the UPS system, and most of the thefts are by UPS drivers.
They enter it as "delivered", take the package home, let the insurance take care of it.
Obviously could have been a theft of opportunity by a passerby as well.

Yeah, I've heard of that too... marked as "delivered"... yeah, right into the UPS guy's garage. The UPS guy then says "It must have been swiped off your doorstep" to cover his butt.

i get my packages thrown on my gated front lot, or placed on my porch. Luckly nothing has broken from the throws over my gate. I'd be pissed if my ammo or other things i order online were stolen. when i get my ammo, it usually comes in a brown box with a sticker on it.

I thought ammo was "signature required" for delivery?

If who you are ordering from doesn't do that it might be good to request it.

I have my ordered delivered to my office so there will always be someone there to receive it.

We once bought a bunch of expensive photo gear that the delivery driver couldn't figure out where to leave. So he left it sitting near our rural mail box, about a half mile from our house, out on the side of the road. It had "B&H Photo" stickers all over it.

It evidently was the straw that broke the camel's back for that driver--he was fired.

I don't always pay for insurance but I ALWAYS pay for tracking, and hey its cheap. Do a Chargeback its not your fault

I always have my shipments sent to my work because of this.

Why would the driver leave something that requires an adult signature??

There is no adult signature required for ammo. Every case of ammo I've ever ordered was left at my place w/o me even being home.

That being said, my UPS driver is pretty cool and usually hides my stuff in my bushes. A couple times even I didn't notice it was there until the next day. I think he sees the ORM-D stickers and knows he should keep it outta sight.

OP: What do your garbage cans being out have to do with it???

I thought I had the same thing happen. Turns out in my case they delivered it next door. If you haven't already, go check with your neighbors and see if it ended up with them by mistake or on their front door step.

I came home late one night (2100 hrs) and found my shipped CMP Garand leaning against the front door. I had a handgun shipped to a wrong address and I was lucky it was a business. I found out because the US Mail carrier who delivered it there told my wife (also a carrier) that a package for me was delivered there. Thats right....through the USPS!! I got the "package" and was very lucky! The business owner happened to know me too! Case of brass that was lost...Ammo I had to pick up at the main FED EX building because it was too heavy....By the way...."Adult signature required" means nothing....I have friends have their gun stuff just dropped off at their door step. I finally had stuff delivered to my work to avoid problems.

UPS left a 1K round box of .308 on my raised flowers beds next to my front porch. Stuck out like a sore thumb. I guess I'm lucking it wasn't stolen. Sorry to hear yours was- hope it gets remedied.

Maybe someone can clarify...

I didn't read anything about the package actually being stolen, just that an expected package didn't arrive. No mention of tracking or anything. Is it possible it was just delayed with the holiday? Seems to me there is a disproportionate amount of packages that go "stolen" from doorsteps of members on this forum.

I should mention I had my neighbor's deliveries dropped at my house too. I just walk it over when they get home.
