Calico ghost town was moved from it's orginal site for a tourist attraction long ago. All the buildings were relocated and the mines are fake. Exploration and escavation of any property is legal with permission from the landowner. I can bring in a backhoe with permission. BLM and Federal land has rules, Some require a permit for certain items, such as fossils or minerals. Some don't. Depends upon the location of the office. State parks are a no go. period. As for tresspassing, You must be asked to leave by the owner in the presence of LE and refuse to leave in order to be cited for tresspass, If the owner can prove property damage, Or there is a request on file with the PD or sherrif, and this is only good for a year. Then it must be refiled by the owner, You can be procecuted. Shooting on ANY private property is a crime without written permission from the owner. CA. PC.
Unless I find an ancient indian buriel ground or encampment, A buried ship, or dinasour remains, In which case I would notify the nearest museum of the site, I'm good to go.

Picking up and removing an arrowhead in the desert or private property is not illegal. Picking up and removing an arrowhead or even a rock, stick, or seashell in a state park or state beach is illegal in Ca...

                My guess....

(Iver) Johnson Defender 5-shot, 32 cal. rimfire They also came with fluted cylinders.

                Made between 1872 and 1883.

Could be Remington New Model Revolvers 1 or 2 but what's left of the front doesn't look the same.

Thanks! That's the one. The holes in the reciever match, has the slot for the cylinder pin release, and it is a rimfire. Sure wish it was in that condition.
