2 .22 rifles that my dad bought when I was 13 - 14 years old. We used to shoot them together and I got my Boy Scout Marksmanship badge with them.

Mine would be my 627pc "blood work" shown in the bottom picture. Thought it was a miracle to find in this state at the price I paid. I know it is irreplaceable here. My parents are both living so I have not inherited my dads gun collection but when I do I will never sell any of them. It is going to be weird to get close to 100 guns at one time. Going to cherish them all because of the found memories growing up and the memories not yet made.

Remington Rand M1911 A1, my grandfather's WWII sidearm (w/holster). Built in '44, last time he shot it was in Japan, 1949. I've put a few through it since. It was with him when he downed a P-51 in a river bed while on recon.

When I turn 60, or should I say if I live that long every gun I own will be sold, I just hope someone has enough money to buy them all, it will be a huge package deal.....

                      some great stories in here!

if the question is just "what won't you sell?" i think the answer is "all of them!" i think if i ever really want to sell a gun, i probably shouldn't have bought it in the first place. but since we're talking sentiment, here...

in keeping with "papa's gun", i have my post-war commercial Plainfield M1 Carbine (black stock). it's not really collectible, and it hardly looks GI in it's composite stock - though it never had a GI-style stock - but it shoots well and it was dad's! (yeah, it's good to go. i can offhand plug man-sized steel at 200 and head-sized steel at 100, and i'd rather carry .30 Carbine SPs over some coyote round for soft targets inside 200yds.)

i also won't get rid of the other M1 Carbine, which belonged to a late mentor. it's a GI-as-you-can-get re-arsenaled Inland, nothing really specially, but it was Elaine's!

i bought this Winchester Model 61 pump-action .22LR from a friend, and i doubt i'd ever sell it. i guess i could do something wacky like, say, get hooked on smack or join a cult, but i'll just count that out. it was one of the last commercial Winchesters made just prior to WWII, and it was made with the "post-war" long pump even though it's pre-war (if the matching numbers are to be believed). it's also a beautiful gun that's a ton of fun to shoot - everyone should have a .22, do it with class!

My "go to" firearm is my old Colt .45 ACP 1991A1. It's always worked every single time regardless what I feed it. What more can anybody ask? I certainly have nicer guns, but that's my "save my butt" model.

Lots of guns have come and gone over the years but the above guns will reside in my safe until i leave this world.
