oh, and the SBR rules apply to antiques that use fixed ammo. The NFA term for antique doesn't include pre-98 firearms that use fixed ammo.

This is no big deal the Thompson Encore comes in bigger calibers and is a fun gun to shoot, they have been around for years.

The original picture posted is a well known 'shop. That doesn't mean the Obrez didn't exist, but the picture posted is definitely altered. You can tell by the way the lighting and rug pattern is different around the handle.

Damn I would love to have my own Obrez. If I had the welding skill and tools I'd love to buy a mosin kit and cut it down to pistol length on a homebuilt receiver.

1. Having the web between your thumb and finger split. I carried Super Glue for a quick repair. Wear a glove - it helps too.
