    M16 clips

Someone wanted to give me a bunch of M16 Mags and I wanted to know if they will fit into an AR-15? Could someone please help me out?

    Thank you,

        Good thread is good.

Yes they will work, but there are more interesting things to find out in your situation.

they fit. if they hold more than 10 rounds have him take them apart before he gives them to you, that would make them rebuild kits and is perfectly legal. that way you can rebuild your old mags with them or convert them to only hold 10 rounds. good luck

                M16 clips...
                "wanted to give"...

Reading between the lines, this thread has so much potential.

I'm waiting for "I just got arrested for having automatic weapons and high capacity magazines and my friend had a kilo of coke, but we weren't dealing I swear. plz help!"

FYI, nobody can legally "give" you M-16 (or any magazine) that is over 10 round capacity while here in CA. Doing so would either be a misdemeanor or a felony.

So, for your sake, it would be best to know that. For the benefit of the doubt, we'll assume that the mags you speak of are 10 or less capacity, and if they aren't, that you will avoid any activities that might end in getting a felony or misdemeanor charge.

Yes, must have been those very rare mil-issue Armalite/ Colt 10rd M16 mags.

Or perhaps the OP meant 10rd stripper clips?

To Tino3, did you ever get the 20rd Surefire mags for your .308 Saiga?

a good friend and co-worker of mine once told me that he was loaded to the gills with 10rd magazines when he was in the army. the way he made it sound, they were practically falling out of his footlocker, or whatever he happened to keep such things in. i believe this was at ft bragg, but i could be wrong. wherever they train the artillerymen.

Ft Sill is home of Artillery.

Early Air Force mags were 10 rounds, in 1962/3. All Army and Marine M16 mags have been 20 and 30 rounds.

An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself...A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."......Cicero

Like assembling them from rebuild kits back into high cap mags?
