Ok this may be the wrong place to ask. If so im sorry. I have a quick question if any one knows the awnser. Im planning on installing a Glockworks fulcrum trigger in my Glock 17. The kit comes with optional polished safty plunger and striker springs included. My question is in compairson to the factory safty plunger will the polished safty plunger from the kit improve lock time or affect any improvement? My goal is to reduce the trigger pull to about 3.5 lbs from the factory 5.5 lbs and remove pretravel in the trigger. Im not what you would call a gunsmith by any means but the installation is within my skill. Thank you in adance for your response

I was once a new user here and wished someone had shared with me the gems of wisdom below. I'm thinking of compiling a book called the Cal Firearms User Directory.
1. You need to lock up and double bag any rifle or shotgun when transporting in a car. Don't even think of using a pickup truck.
2. Having a loaded magazine or clip in your possession is the same as having a loaded gun. Don't do it.
3. You need to have a store receipt for a gun lock when you pick up a newly bought gun at the gun store.
4. Don't use handloads for self defense, or else you might risk extra liability for being extra evil.
5. 9mm is useless in self defense, .45 ACP at the minimum.
6. .223 was developed for hunting gophers, and is useless against human attackers.
7. .50 BMG rifles are super dangerous and can shoot down airliners flying 500mph at 25000 feet. Really.
8. Black plastic guns are super cool and worth twice the price of regular guns with wood stocks
9. Glocks are super reliable and don't need any cleaning to keep functioning, ever.
10. (I forgot what this one was)
No need to thank me.

Wait, I thought #3 was accurate. I mean, for handguns. Rifles you can do the safe waiver but for handguns the requirement was a DOJ approved lock with receipt within the last 30 days.
Or am I mistaken?
So difficult separating fact from FUD online... after awhile the tongue in cheek crap starts mixing with the truth...Comment

A safe affidavit works just fine. also you can get a cable lock for free from a local pd office. (no reciept for that)Wait, I thought #3 was accurate. I mean, for handguns. The safety device requirement does not apply to the following:
Persons who can demonstrate the purchase of a DOJ-approved safety device in the 30 days prior to taking possession of the firearm by presenting the device to the firearms dealer and providing the firearms dealer with a receipt showing the purchase date and model name of the device.
The commerce of any firearm defined as an "antique firearm" pursuant to federal law.
The commerce of any firearm intended to be used by a salaried, full-time peace officer for law enforcement purposes.
Transfers of firearms to persons who demonstrate ownership of a qualifying gun safe. Ownership may be demonstrated by displaying to the firearms dealer: 1) A receipt indicating purchase of, or an affidavit, signed under penalty of perjury, stating that the purchaser owns a gun safe, and 2) An affidavit, signed under penalty of perjury, stating that the gun safe meets the standards set forth in DOJ regulations.Last edited by Droc101; 02-01-2011, 7:37 PM.Comment
