AW in oregon? Looking for info

Anyone aim me at a basic overview of oregon laws on rifles. Looking at moving there and would rather not read all the gov legal jargon to get my info

I know of no AW laws or hicap mag laws in Oregon.

Possession of typical ARs and AKs, etc. that are prohibited in CA are legal in OR. These guns are sold off the rack up there and no 'BulletButton' or special grips are needed. Hicap mags are sold at gunshops as well.

[I am unclear about their standards for SBRs/SBSes and other items that have Fed regulation.]

I dunno about CGF donations triggering sig lines - you can edit your own sig line on Calguns, which is what I've done.

Oregon doesn't have any restrictions. Anything allowed on the federal level (including machineguns, suppressors, sbr's) can be owned in Oregon. No registration either.

Oregon may have hippies, but they are gun friendly.

These NFA items are all legal there (assuming legally obtained):
Machine Guns
Silencers
Any Other Weapon (AOW)
Destructive Devices (DD)
Short Barreled Shotguns (SBS)
Short Barreled Rifles (SBR)

FFL are allowed to charge a $10 fee for background checks there, but don't always.
Gun Shows require background checks in Oregon, but face to face sales don't.
Open carry is legal. CCW is shall issue and $50 for four years plus fingerprint, background, etc fees.
No registration of any guns, but a copy of 4473 is sent to the local police station.
State law preempts counties, cities, and localities from enacting their own laws (this is awesome).

While Oregon allows Open Carry (loaded, of course), some municipalities have banned it - I know for sure Portland, Beaverton, Tigard don't allow Open Carry. That is without a license. If one possesses a valid CHL (Concealed Handgun License), Open Carry is legal even in those municipalities. However, Portland PD made threats to arrest people carrying openly even with a license.

Washington county charges $65 for initial application, and $50 for renewal. So either the amount stated is incorrect, or it may vary from county to county.

OR is great for gun laws. Buy from friends, no paperwork. No mag restrictions, no AWs. When you buy, the FFL will make a quick phone call to the state and you're done - buy it & walk. Nice and easy, you're going to like it alot. Pawn shops are a good place to buy, you'll find all sorts of guns at hardware, sporting goods stores too. Prices are cheap compared to CA, used guns especially.

Quick example of what to expect - I brought my 1918 BAR up there last year & thought it was kind of neat until my friends said "oh yeh - I fired so and so's full auto 1918 last weekend"

As I understand it, for a new OR CHL $50 is for the county. And an extra $15 is sent by them to the Oregon State Police along with the fingerprint card. Total is $65.

But what about the the preemption there that prevents local municipalities from making their own gun laws?
If you got arrested, surely the state preemption would be a slam dunk acquittal? No?
