Because some of us live in gorgeous parts of California -- some of the most beautiful places in the world and don't want to move to a hole like excuse me, Louisiana or Arizona? Some of us have family going back many generations in California and this is our wonderful home.Comment

I was wondering why the LEO's needed that special breaching gun (which has been around for many decades now in one form or other BTW), when a simple tactic change would solve their "problem".
Breacher blows the locks/hinges. Now, instead of pausing to transition to a handgun or rifle....he gets out of the way and lets the the stack go through! By the time the last man goes by, the breacher could have transitioned to a Howitzer and followed the stack in.
Or; breacher loads the two or three breaching rounds last, with standard buck on top. Blow the locks, and roll in as #1 with at least 6 rounds of buck at the ready.
Or; breacher blows the locks, steps aside to allow the stack to roll in, then remains outside as security.
...but i guess that wouldn't make good TV."A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself...A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague."......CiceroComment

I don't think so. I hear about and see with my own eyes so many idiots at the range. Despite what we go thru here in CA that forces many of us to bond together, sometimes we still eat our own.In Glock We Trust.

I saw that same show. This show was so highly inaccurate with technoligy and information for the theme, it was imbarrasing.
On a SWAT team, the person who breeches the door stands aside while the entry team enters, then the breech guy posts up at the entry door and covers the rear. Like ARMY sclearly states and I re-inforce because this is universal amongst military and law enforcement and everyone should be doing entries in the same manner. SWAT teams were originally trained in theses entry tactics by the military and adopted these tactics as an industry standard.
Everything in this TV show contridicted this! And you have to ask yourself why the Sons of Guns guys are so unfamiliar with modern military M4 weapons and parts manufacturers.
Seems that they put much faith into thier old Bridgeport style mill (which by the way is a great mill for the novist) but for modern firearms manufacturing, modern CNC 5 head mills are an industy standard. 3 head mills are rarely used, let alone a single!
Thier whole master key seemed to be a producer/director fabricated show theme. Now the civil war cannon was really cool!Comment

I was thinking the same thing, and I haven't been around a mill for 8 years!Comment

While I can appreciate your love of the the beauty of California, I'd suggest we keep it a bit more civil than resorting toname calling of the states that are home to a surprising number of calgunners.Because some of us live in gorgeous parts of California -- some of the most beautiful places in the world and don't want to move to a hole like excuse me, Louisiana or Arizona? Just remember people, this is a legitimate question supporting a legitimate discussion. It's not a "who lives in a better place" contest.
Anyway. I find it hard to believe that situation was framed by the producers. Generally, a show like that likes to pride itself on doing little side cuts in which a member of the show's cast explains very matter-of-factly the definition and history of the term in question to show how "professional and knowledgable" the stars of the show are. I submit that instead, the producers, upon hearing the terms "master key" and "m203," thought that these were referring to something that most of its audience would be so unfamiliar with that they wouldn't go online and start a thread chastising the shop on their show for being so ignorant of what many consider common gun knowledge.Comment
