I've got an FFL here in Phoenix

As I understand it, SA revolvers are exempt from the drop-list. Removing the DA sear renders the revolver a SA.Some of the legal restrictions on handguns only apply to SA guns. If you can find an FFL to modify a banned DA gun into its legal SA version, and send you the gun with parts separate, you can legally modify the gun back to DA state.
Or so I understand it. This is more of Bill Wiese's doing. If this be FUD, bring it on!
Once in possesion of revolver by the owner in CA, he can replace the DA sear. In CA, one can modify a pistol to his heart's content.Comment

A bullet button makes the magazine on an AR-15 "like" firearm into a non detachable magazine rifle allowing it to have evil features like a flash hider or a pistol grip.

azarmory,
The quick answer is no (not quick devolves into some weird gray areas.)
How about I explain what you can do. You can get some bullet buttons, buy some STAGs, or, Noveskes or Lauer full rifles - install the bullet buttons, and then sell them into California. All that's really required by CA law is that the make and model on the side of the receiver not be on the list. A great example of something not on the list is the Bushmaster Carbon-15. XM_15, no go, Carbon-15 with a bullet button is a-ok for sale in California.
The other style of Carbon-15 you could sell would be pistol gripless with an A2 stock, a brake instead of a flash hider, and a Monsterman Grip - which is not a pistol grip. That rifle - because it has no features prohibited by 12276.1 can be sold and can use detachable magazines.

Hey Jeff, give me a call when you have a moment and I can explain things in detail. I've gotten so much knowledge from this website I can almost give you the stuff verbatim
. Oh yea, check your PM box.
BTW, Gene and Bill are the resident gurus of the law and know 'the right people" when things come up in CA.
Have a great gun carryin' Kenpo day

Did you have any bullet buttons, monsterman grips, or U-15 stocks wen you left California? If you still have any of that, take it over and show him, or if not, maybe next time some CA resident goes out that way, he could take samples. Seeing them in person is worth ten thousand words. -- oh, plus that book How To Own A Gun In California And Stay Out Of Jail.Mention the Deacons for Defense and Justice and make both left and right wingnuts squirmComment

Scarecrow,
My copy of that book is a couple of years old. How up to date on OLL/Harrot is it?
If it hasn't addressed it yet, I need to call TMLLP and implore them to update those sections.
