My brother goes to pick up the gun and the officer handed him a box (with a lot of dust on it) and said "There's your revolver thingy, pal." Turns out the only recovered firearm was my brother's Royal Blue 8" Colt Python, still in good condition.
    Cool story!

I don't believe for a second that over a course of 10-30 years that more guns haven't shown up. I believe that they somehow disappear from the police holding them or they're destroyed, especially in anti-gun states.

        RE:Stolen guns

I too had a bunch of handguns stolen, 3of them, two were returned, one was held and doubtless destroyed later.I also lost about $20K worth of antique rifles at about the same time.Since none of them were ever recovered, i'm thinking that no one ever gives a damm about collectables. They seem to care only about handguns.

I bet alot of them get the serial numbers defaced, and you'll never get those back. Others end up at the bottom of a lake or river or landfill.
