Getting one of my guns back....

Just over 2 years ago, our home was burglarized during the day when my wife and I were (thankfully) at work. Among many other things, the thieves found and carried off my small (but heavy) gun safe containing 5 hand guns. Today, my local PD left me a voicemail that one of my firearms was recovered in downtown L.A., and that I could come pick it up at my earliest convenience!!! I do not know which one it is, but out of the 5, there was the following:
-Ruger P89 (since replaced it with a P95)
-Ruger New Model Single Six (not registered-had just received it as an inheritence item-serial number unknown, so I know I won't be picking this one up)
    -Taurus PT22
-Walther P22 (JUST purchased a new P22-picking it up this Friday)
-Taurus Stainless .357 revolver (replaced with a Ruger LCR in .38)
I guess I am hoping it is the .357. The suspense is killing me...........

Awesome! Getting them back is a 1 in 10,000 chance. Congrats on reuniting with an old friend!

Glad to hear you are getting one back. Hopefully it is still in good shape but I would not count on it.

Ahhhh, that's GREAT! I had about 8 guns stolen about 15 years ago and I've always held out some hope that some might make it home someday....

And you know what's funny? A buddy of mine at work recently told me that when he was a kid, his family's house was burglarized and his dad's handguns were also stolen. Twenty-seven years later, the dad got a phone call................

My pops got recovered a handgun over 30 years later. Unfortunately Grandpa wasn't around to see his gun returned. Fortunately it was a sweet detectives special that was still in the same holster it was stolen in and no worse on the wear and tear. Somehow made it from Pomona to Denver in that time.

Thieves are the lowest form of life out there, except for liberal politicians, of course, but that's redundant.

Turns out it is the Ruger P89DC 9mm that was recovered. Took it from a perp when he was arrested. Love to know the whole story there.
I also found out that because my insurance co. paid me for the loss, I need their "OK" to take posession.

In the mid-80s my house was broken into and the crooks stole quite a few of my brother's handguns and I think a shotgun.

In 2003 my brother gets a phone call from the police department telling him he has some property to pick up. It appears one of the stolen handguns was recovered from the trunk of a car in 1993 but the PD failed to notify my brother for some unknown reason.

My brother goes to pick up the gun and the officer handed him a box (with a lot of dust on it) and said "There's your revolver thingy, pal." Turns out the only recovered firearm was my brother's Royal Blue 8" Colt Python, still in good condition.
