    Guns and TV shows

Off the top of my head -
    1. Southland TV show: does everyone on the show trailers have to be wielding a gun?

    2. LA shooting that happened today. Just listening to the talking heads on the LA live thread.....WOW, the drama and the spin spin spin....for half an hour now some lady is going on with the "what ifs". Its nauseating. WATCH LIVE: Shooting Reported at Gardena High School -- ktla.com

    There should be a law.......

On edit; they've been going on and on for over an hour now!

Well, it is big news also because it is on lockdown and parents want to know how to get their kids.

I've been listening in the background (ktla live vid link http://www.ktla.com/videobeta )/?watchLive=ktla-live-stream-6and it doesn't appear to be spun much.

When something like this happens, it's only natural that the issue of guns in the wrong hands at the wrong times and in the wrong ways comes up, as it should.

I'm sure all of us at CGF would agree that that young man should not have had a gun in his pack at school.

The main question seems to be why the young man had a gun, not that he did have one.

Maybe we're listening to different channels but there's one lady who seems to go on and on...

from memory....she was on the soap box about innocent children being shot in their front yards among other examples of gun dangers.

So, what about that Southland TV show ad?

Well, I agree with you that alot of spin is put on these sorts of things. I was actually surprised that the man I'm listening to seems to take a more common sense approach.

But as we all know much of the media is programmed by thier liberal arts college professors to think that guns are causing crimes.

This is one of the reasons I don't watch TV, at all just about (except for movies and streaming). Certainly not news. I use the internet almost exclusively so I can do my own research and find people with intelligence to listen to.

I just happened on the link to KTLA TV showing this live on another thread here.

TV and movie trailers are edited to draw the attention of the viewer. Just about everyone sees guns on TV as "cool", so a trailer showing cops running around with guns drawn is going to attract the interest of the viewers. Ironically, very little of the typical Southland episode actually involves guns drawn... it's actually a very procedurally accurate show.
