You sure did buy a lot of premium LE ammo which contributed to the really high cost. Probably could have done with half that amount or even less. I would have just stocked up on a bunch of target ammo instead, but hey, it's your money. Perhaps you should look into reloading to save even more money?

Nope, that looks a lot like my last two ammo orders. Except that I bought 1000 rounds of the 9mm Speer Gold Dot 124 +P instead of just 500.

SG's prices are hard to beat on premium ammo, not to mention their shipping is fast and customer service is top notch. As long as you didn't put yourself in a bind buying that much you're fine. If you're looking to re-sell it later and make a killing, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Also, SG will still sell rifle and shotgun ammo to CA after Feb 1.

Got the new cheaperthandirt in the mail yesterday , the front cover says that they are having a huge ammo sale, but there is also a note buble note on the front saying that as of Jan 1 2011 no more ammo sales to CA.

            Now I need that Kel-tec shotgun...drool......

            and yeah I misspelled purchasing <- duh :B ?

LOL -- I would have bought more, but good start. I am a huge Gold Dot fan, BTW.

Any quality ammo is good ammo to have stashed.

Odd, I placed an order last night on some 147gr SXT that says it shipped about 1/2 hr ago.

Ammo isn't a bad investment. If you don't end up needing all of it, sell the rest for what you paid for it (minus shipping.)

At least that's what I tell my wife... LOL

Just one more reason to NOT buy anything from them. Their idea of protesting the law is to deny us items that are not prohibited, just like they do with AR parts. Cutting off sales early is just extra salt in the wound.

Spend your money with a dealer who's willing to work within the rules and not arbitrarily deny selling legal items to Californians.

If you spend a little time digging around you can usually find the same stuff for close to the same price. Once you factor in their ridiculous shipping and handling fees you can often blow their prices out of the water.

I've been stocking up on quality self defense rounds, and good old cheap russian practice ammo. The stuff in the middle will still be available at walmart.

Just did an SGAmmo buy of 9mm Gold Dots myself. Probably going to do another on Monday, just for the heck of it.

As long as you can still pay the rent and eat, ammo is NEVER a bad way to spend money.
