    Where do stolen guns go?

I am posting this out of curiosity and to generate good discussion. A few years back my home was burglarized and all of my firearms and ammo were stolen (among many other things). This was more than a model 870 shotgun and a 10/22. We are talking HK USP .45, M1A, 1911, etc. So do people that steal this stuff literally go to their homies and say "I have an M1A and a few thousands rounds of ammo, will take $200 bucks for it!" Who in their right mind would buy that for the risk of being caught? Nonetheless it has been 5 years and none have been recovered and I don't expect them to.

Is being caught with a stolen firearm a felony?

No I did not have a safe or proper security measures in the home, and I learned the hard way, let's not beat a dead horse

How say you....how are these stolen weapons sold on the street?

I would say they are sold off to drug dealers. Its not like a drug dealer would mind having a stolen gun. They already commit felonies every day selling drugs.

I'd say lots go out of state where face-to-face sales are otherwise legal...

My knowledge of priors by friends that got busted for something minor like driving on a suspended license, and in possession of a stolen firearm. The firearm charge was always dropped even for being a "felon in possession". Of course them being a convicted felon and not being charged with another felony really doesn't make any sense but it's been shown to happen over and over again.

I'd love to see a gang shootout where the gangstas used Mosin Nagants and Mausers. I bet they'd hit nothing.

They go to Gun heaven. I had three firearms stolen when I first bought my home in 85 and never heard anything from the "police mans" and serial #'s were given for all.

Hate to tell yas, it aint just homies and dealers buying stolen firearms. Pleanty of so-called upstanding citizens picking them up. There are those whom play middleman. They know tweakers. Tweak calls saying he has ----- Guy calls friends posting a $200 mark up SOLD. Like that with all high end stuff. Sad part in my experience these douches are already doing very well financially

                          ??

That doesn't mean the owner doesn't report the serial numbers on the theft report here in CA.

                          .

This is hard for me to comprehend....but I am just being naive, that's people put themselves in these positions to save a few hundred bucks
