One eye or two

When you shoot your guns do you have both eyes open, or do you squint and use only one eye. Using both eyes is harder at first, but once you get used to it I feel it is the better way to shoot.

both ways, actually. it depends on what im shooting, and how i'm shooting it. there's no one answer for all situations...

Why? It's a valid question with no correct answer. If you're using a conventional scope, then obviously one eye is better. But if you're using a red-dot, or shooting a handgun, both are OK. How much eye dominance you possess is going to factor into it, too.

No joke, if you are carry ccw and you are attacked by more than one bad guy, you better be able to shoot with both eyes open, or you won't see the guy on your blind side.

Scoped Rifles: one eye
Red Dot/Holographic Sights (1x magnification): both eyes
Shotguns: usually both eyes

I try to use both eyes no matter the application. For scopes having a dial on the left side really jacks with my ability to use both eyes. I think it causes issues due to the distance (or lack of) and I tend to only "see" the dial. So in that case I use only one eye.

Rifles (Iron Sights) - Squint
Shotgun - both eyes
Handgun -both eyes
Scoped Rifles - Squint
Never shot anything with RDS or Holographic before.

thats odd, I fire handguns & shotguns one eyed and rifle both eyes, couldn't hit the target with both open except rifle, must need more range time better load up the truck for tomorrow
