I don't like polymer guns. I went as far as to sell the ones i did own. I would own a 1911 again .

Same here. I'll take either of my 1911's over just about anything else. I shoot them better than any other gun that I've practiced with.

But, as with all guns, you never know until you try them for yourself.

I am recent 1911 fan and I love the platform. I love it so much that my first purchase was a high end semi custom 1911. It fits my hand better, the trigger pull is crisp, and is deadly accurate. But my go to gun is still my Glock 19 if the SHTF.

I have not gotten into the polymer guns yet. I like the weight and feel of a metal frame handgun. But I guess all the gun manufactures are going that way. The 1911 will never change. And with home defense for an alternative you beat the guy over the head with heavy metal framer. A poly he may just say, ouch.

i like both. i generally alternate between my usp's and my kimber at the range. id like to get another 1911, but money, you know..... i like most reliable pistols with that same general grip angle and frame mounted swipe down/off safety. like my new cz75. its a great feeling pistol as well.

I really like plastic guns... though only for shooting streams of water. To shoot bullets I like guns made from steel.
                Old fashioned I guess...

i was gonna get an xd-45 instead of a springfield gi but after firing my buddy's xd, i didnt like it so much.. it would snap back really hard on the recoil making it harder to return to the position. although it really is a good point and shoot gun. i went with the 1911 for the longevity, reliability, accuracy, and just plain awesome feeling of holding it. love my 1911 would trade it for anything else right now

Love the 1911 look and feel, but I love the polymer price even more. A Glock is an old 4x4 you don't really have to worry about. A 1911 is an immaculate vintage Porsche that needs to be kept in the garage.

I made the mistake of buying a plastic toy once- it was a really good sale....

I HATED it. Put 400 rounds through it at the most in 2 yrs- finally sold it since I hated it.

Pick up my sig 1911 tomorrow. Been wanting a 1911 for about 15 yrs. Grew up shooting one- nothing else compares. Not even close.

In 3 months, the M1911 will officially be 100 yrs old. Adopted by the US Army in Mar 1911... who the heck would want a glock 75 years from now?

Huge 1911 fan, but there is always a place in my safe for a plastic gun. If you look in my safe the 1911s out number the plastic guns three to one.
