    gunsamerica.com ?

I'm constantly on the lookout for guns on my "wishlist". The vast majority of my collection has come from various gun dealers in So Cal and I recently began purchasing off Calguns (1 transaction so far which went great). There's a couple of rifles I just can't seem to find on Calguns or in my dealer's stores but I see quite a few of them for sale on gunsamerica.com. I'm a little leery of buying any firearms through this site. Should I be or is it OK if the seller has good history? Sure appreciate some feedack from those of you "in the know". Thanks.

Gunsamerica is very reputable...you always have the right of inspection before doing paperwork on a firearm, so if something comes and it's not as advertised, you can refuse it and ship it back...I've done many transfers of firearms from Gunsamerica...and I can only recall one instance where the buyer refused a firearm (he was being very nit-picky IMHO).

Thanks for the feedback. I assume you only buy from dealers with multiple transactions, good feedback and a return policy? Any other tips or advice?

Gunsamerica is no different than gunbroker or ebay. They all just connect a buyer with a seller. So, the site itself isn't an issue. There is always a potential for a problem anytime you are dealing with someone on the internet whom you do not know. On the bright side, many venders on both GA and GB are FFL holders who are running brick and mortar stores. For the most part, they don't want to screw anyone anymore than they want to get screwed.

communication is king with this type of purchase; don't be shy about asking questions in advance of actual purchase. if you need better pictures of item offered... ask for them before purchase.

and yes... feedback rating is important.

Agreed that the thing you really need to look for is the buyer/seller's performance and reputation, BUT I have had problems with the Gunsamerica staff themselves. I tried to register there a few years back to do some shopping and they called my home phone to try and verify the information I had registered with (okay...weird but whatever). The woman who called refused to identify herself or who she was calling from, and would only ask if this was "<My first name>'s home telephone number." She was extremely rude to my wife who answered the phone, would not say who she was or why she was requesting my information, and called my wife a "little girl" (lol she was 32 at the time). They then emailed me with rude comments, calling me a "problem account" and said that I was "suspicious" because my wife wouldn't release personal information about me and my family to an unidentified stranger over the phone. You can only imagine the fun I had explaining to my wife why some strange woman was calling for me and wouldn't identify herself. The woman's name was Michele Demas as identified in her rude emails to me after the fact.

This was in 2008. Maybe things have changed, and maybe Ms. Demas was an exception and has been shown the door. But I tend to not forget when people are rude to my family. Any broker that treats their potential clients in the way I was treated by Gunsamerica, doesn't really want the business anyway. Why would they refuse to identify themselves on the phone? In my opinion, they're a shady operation and should be avoided. Use Gunbroker.com instead.

I have bought a few G43s off of Gunsamerica, each seller had only a few previous successful sales, no negative comments that I remember.

                          No problems with either sale.

I've used Guns America three times and I've been very satisfied.

The one time things didn't go well was when an offered gun was sold two weeks earlier and the dealer didn't take down the listing. He tried to sell me a different gun ( a sort of 'bait and switch' ? ) so I told him I wasn't interested. He's not on GA anymore, that stuff gets old fast.
