On one range trip, a guy and a girl showed up in the stall next to me. It was obviously her first time shooting. They had the target at 25 yds, and I kept seeing dirt puffs about half-way to the target. The guy was too busy taking video to notice that the girl wasn't hitting anything. One of the range officers noticed and came over to show her how to aim. I'm betting she'd have had a hard time hitting paper at 5yds.

I had a friend that did this too. This was also funnier because earlier that day he stated that he thought he'd "make a good sniper." Turns out he really didn't quite get the concept that the front and rear sight have to be aligned with the target if you want to hit anything.

Not quite. I've seen some very scary things at public range, including missing the target at about 5 yards. It was a silhouette target.

The first principle of accurate shooting is trigger control: a smooth, press straight back on the trigger with only the trigger finger moving. Maintain your focus on the front sight as you press the trigger, increasing pressure on the trigger until the shot breaks. Don't try to predict exactly when the gun will go off nor try to cause the shot to break at a particular moment. This is what Jeff Cooper called the "surprise break."

You stopped reading the thread didn't you?

BTW, since this glock is clearly broken I am willing to let it go for cheap. $250

No wonder you can't hit anything.

And no, I'm not surprised when my gun goes off, but I've managed to learn some trigger control. The surprise break is the path to learning trigger control.

But you have a Glock that is not a Glock and that might be part of your problem.

So tell me, can you actually hit a target?

Nothing on paper at 5 yards? How small was your target?

it's hard to imagine even a glock could be broken that bad... have you had someone else shoot it?
