Question on hk45 prices

Because unless you are LEO, they are off list handguns! Just try and purchase one or do a FFL transfer.. Only way to have one here in Kommiefornia is through a Private Party Transfer."Americans used to roar like lions for liberty;now we bleat like sheep for security."
~ Norman Vincent Peale -
Its not on the CA approved roster. Any HK45s in CA were bought by Law Enforcement Officers or brought into the state by people who have just moved into CA. So there is a CA premium for any of these guns. If you lived in a free state you'd be paying retail or even less.Last edited by Clee; 11-11-2010, 7:31 PM.Comment

OP - What's your location? I ask because there are now several FFLs that will build single shot sled and have the off-list guns available -Comment

Perhaps a little nit-picky, but the HK45 is an off roster handgun, period. LEO's are exempt from roster restrictions.
This is not true. You can also get one through an interstate intrafamilial transfer or through the single-shot exemption.Comment

I will be working on my single shot conversion soon. I will ship to any CA FFL that will do the transfer. Valkyrie arms in milpitas already does the single shot conversions for the HK45 IIRC.Comment

Yes...you can buy an HK 45 off roster handgun
From a Private Party who already has one and lives in California. The TRANSFER and DROS process has to take place FACE TO FACE (FTF)
with him, you and your local FFL. You pay him, he hands over the weapon to the FFL, you fill out the forms and pay the fee ($35), then you wait 10 days
before you come back to the FFL and pick up the HK .45.
You can't buy that weapon out of State and have it shipped. Or from anyone out of California.
I want one and I will have one after the New Year. (my adult daughter who lives in Oklahoma said she wants to gift me her NIB HK .45.)
In that case, all she has to do is FED EX the weapon to my FFL here in Orange County....with a letter saying it's a gift. I do the DROS and wait 10 days then pick up the weapon. Inter family transfers are exempt from the
Roster requirement.May the Bridges I burn light the way.

They know because it's the law. This forum isn't a place to come and ask question to try and be sneaky to circumvent the law.I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

You must submit a form to the CA DOJ when you do an intrafamilial transfer of a handgun. They will be able to determine if anyone involved is ineligible.12078(c)(1) Subdivision (d) of Section 12072 shall not apply to the infrequent transfer of a firearm that is not a handgun by gift, bequest, intestate succession, or other means by one individual to another if both individuals are members of the same immediate family.
(2) Subdivision (d) of Section 12072 shall not apply to the infrequent transfer of a handgun by gift, bequest, intestate succession, or other means by one individual to another if both individuals are members of the same immediate family and all of the following conditions are met:
(A) The person to whom the firearm is transferred shall, within 30 days of taking possession of the firearm, forward by prepaid mail or deliver in person to the Department of Justice, a report that includes information concerning the individual taking possession of the firearm, how title was obtained and from whom, and a description of the firearm in question. The report forms that individuals complete pursuant to this paragraph shall be provided to them by the Department of Justice.
(B) The person taking title to the firearm shall first obtain a basic firearms safety certificate. If taking possession on or after January 1, 2003, the person taking title to the firearm shall first obtain a handgun safety certificate.
(C) The person receiving the firearm is 18 years of age or older.
(3) As used in this subdivision, "immediate family member" means any one of the following relationships:
(A) Parent and child.
(B) Grandparent and grandchild.Comment

This wouldn't apply to a firearm coming from out of state. Federal law requires that all interstate firearm transfer use an FFL in the receivers state.I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!
