    Good bailif

Sitting in jury duty this morning. Just noticed that the bailif is carrying a 1911. Thought that was neat, I don't see many 1911 service weapons around these parts. Can't tell what make it is though.
    It's too late, it's over.

I though I was the only one that checked out the cops guns. Always trying to see what there department issues or if the are allowed to chose there own. Great choice can't ever go wrong with a 1911, that shows class.

Lol... no wonder I have so much fun on CGN. That's exactly how I "interviewed" my Better Half -- by seeing what his duty weapon is. If it didn't pass muster, I wasn't going to talk to him

Don't suppose it was a BBQ gun was it? That would've been even better.

Last time I had jury duty the bailiff sat and text messaged the whole time.

Local SO has the option of carrying a Kimber 45.

It's not just bailiffs. Last time I went over to the Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles, I noticed several of the deputies that patrol the event carrying Para-Ordnance 1911s in condition one. It's been a couple years, and I wonder if it's still the same there. I guess it could be that they are allowed a wide variety of choice in personal sidearms.

You're in Marin Superior Court? (going by your location header - Novato)
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

The last time I went to a chargers game there was a cop walking around with a 1911. His buddy was carrying a sig. I do agree though it it's not very common for a cop to be seen carrying a 1911

I was at a local Starbucks last week & noticed 3 out the 4 SDPD officers were carrying full size 1911's in condition one. One of them was a motor officer.

It's pretty common here in the Bay Area. A few years back, the various departments were beginning to understand that having multiple rounds is great, but if they're not going to have any "drop down" power, it's not going to do officers any good in a fire fight.

That's when they decided to give the option of either .40s or .45s -- an improvement from just a 9mm.

I did a ride along in San Diego and one of the officers was carrying a 1911. Couldn't tell make though.
