Bullet Grain and Rifling Twist Question

Back in my AR newbie days I bought some Hornady 75gr TAP 5.56mm ammo for personal defense rounds. They're hard to find now and really don't want to get rid of them. My AR has a 16" RRA 1:9 twist upper and later I learned 75gr works best in 1:7 twist. IF SHTF will I be ok shooting that heavy bullet in my 1:9 twist?

Not sure if this was the right forum so I apologize if it's not.

    Thanks!!!

If SHTF, anything that will fire in your firearm will be good enough. YOur 1-9" barrel will shoot 75 gr bullets.

I've shot 75gr Hornady bullet out of my 1:9 twist 16" barrel and it works. However, the group was not as tight as lighter bullets.

The recommended grain range for a 1/9" twist is between 52 and 68 grains. That's for best accuracy.

But in a real SHTF scenario you'll most likely only be engaging targets at combat range in which case it's doesn't matter as long as it goes bang.
