Hell at this point its just easier and cheeper for me to stock up on ammo when I go to NV or up to OR.
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms . . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes . . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man - Thomas Jefferson

That's part of my plan. I'm also (re)learning how to reload and supporting the efforts to overturn this and other malicious laws.

I had a question about this.

In light of vendors saying "no ammo to CA, period", how important is it to stock up on ammo now? I was going to buy a couple boxes of 9mm, as I already have a few boxes of HD ammo and figured even if more $$$, you can always find 9mm here. But with places like cheaperthandirt restricting all ammo sales, I'm considering putting my FS2000 purchase on hold and picking up 1,000rds NATO surplus 7.62x51 and 1,000rds of NATO surplus M855 5.56mm or something like that.

Basically, ignoring the "what if the zombies come next month?" line of reasoning, how concerned should I be about stockpiling harder-to-find-locally ammo (rifle ammo, handgun HD loads like JHPs, etc) right now? Enough to put off a rifle purchase and spend $1K or so just on ammo?

EDIT: Question #2) How much of a chance is there that the ban will be overturned within the next year?
Question #3) Does the AB restrict private party sales, private physical transfers (i.e. I go to Vegas and bring ammo back), or 3rd party proxies (I buy ammo, have it shipped to friend outside of CA, he immediately ships it to me)?

I live in Nevada, and I buy all my ammo online. I will no longer do business with Natchez, Cabelas or any other company that refuses to do legally permissible business in California. I suggest others do the same.

Cordelia Gun Exchange has cases (2Krds) for $750 or $700, can't remember which.
