40sw is relatively cheap to buy also, while at home use sig357 defense rounds that pust 1600fps ..which is faster then any of the standard rounds used in the gell test above..
..i love my sigs and my xd.

here is my fud backup for the 1600fps statement

In 1994, SIG got together with Federal and created the .357SIG.
Since, SIG created it, they got to name it.

They basically took a .40S&W and necked it down to 9mm and loaded a 9mm 125gr bullet hot enough to duplicate the ballistics of a 125gr .357Magnum round.

The .357SIG is currently in service with the...
      U.S. Secret Service = SIG P229
Federal Air Marshal Service = SIG P229
      New Mexico State Police = S&W M&P357
North Carolina State Highway Patrol = S&W M&P357
Oaklahoma Highway Patrol = SIG P226
Rhode Island State Police = SIG P226
South Dakota Highway Patrol = SIG P229
Tennessee State Police = Glock 31
Texas State Police = SIG P226
Virginia State Police = SIG P229
