    1911 45

Well I have been puting this off too long. Today or tomorrow I am going to take a serious look and purchase of 1911 45.
I'd like to hear opinions on these three. They have to have the 5 inch barrel length.

My boss tells me you gotta take a look at the Kimbers. I like the Eclipse Target II with the Tritium bar-dot night sight, adjustable. And the Finish.

Others have said the Springfield Loaded. Again withe the Trtium adjustable sights.

There is a Watsonsville Police Trainer I was talkin with and says the S&W is one of the smoothest of any 45 he has shot. And adjustable night sights.

Springfield TRP, MC Operator, or the Loaded are all good choices. I'm a Springfield fanboy.

I've ALWAYS wanted a TRP, while knowing they're a little out of reach I started looking for an MC Operator, it was taking too long so I considered a Mil Spec that I could build up, then a Parkerized Loaded became available on Buds so I jumped on it, I sometimes wish it had an accessory rail but I really couldn't be happier.

You can't go wrong with Springfeild, Kimber, Dan&Wesson, Newer Sig's, and I have heard good things about the Smith&Wesson. No matter what you will love the 1911's. Here is a pic of two of mine

I'd say springfield as i've only had good experiences and i hear the CS is great.
Kimbers might be a good gun, might not, their CS is a freaking joke.
          I don't know anything about S&W 1911's so i won't comment on them.

I have the S&W with adjustable sights in Stainless. You should know that they redesigned the ejector so in the very strict sense in is a modified 1911. I love it!

it isn't the ejector that is different on the S&W, it is the extractor...they use one like on the Gen 3 semi-autos

S&W does not have a series 80 FPS, they use the Swartz system...it works off the grip safety instead of the trigger

                        Craigwood,

You said you like the Kimber Eclipse Target II, then that is the one you should get. That is one pretty and awesome piece. There is nothing as satisfying as getting the gun that you are infatuated with!

Irregardless if others will suggest a more expensive/cheaper brand and model, the Kimber Eclipse Target II is nothing to be sneered at.

I say, buy it and buy it soon!

And I was surprized that only a couple upscaled the Kimber. I called the store they just happened to have one. And yes they are awsome. I will put my name on it either today or tomorrow.

Depends on what you want to spend, this is how I look at it. A 1911 is a work of art when made correctly, so of all the brands that I have looked at I personally have decided on a Wilson Combat Tactical LE. So that is what I am saving up for at the moment. Not a cheap firearm by any stretch but pay once cry once. You do not have to spend that much $ though to have a nice 1911.

For me money is no object. Yea a Les Bear would be nice. But a bit overkill.
