I had someone offer me 2x the $$ i was asking for a rifle I was selling if I didn't go through a FFL for the transfer. I didn't bother emailing them back much less answer that stupid offer. I don't know if the guy was a member on here cause he emailed me directly
There are a lot of new members selling guns that they had for years and might have no idea its illegal. After all you buy a gun in california 15-20 years ago throw it in a closet and forget about it, go to a gun store one day and see it on the shelf for 1000$ Holy crap I got this one at home Im gonna try to sell it for 900$. run home do a google search cal guns comes up register post a for sale ad and try to sell a Bushmaster carabine. To a person that does not know guns and legalities, you can throw illegal and a legal gun ( say they look alike same accessories 10/30 mag etc)side by side and most people wont have a clue that one is illegal.Comment

other than a hi cap mag, I can't think of anything for a mini that I have seen aftermarket that would make it illegal?

I only see a few. Mostly Ruger mini 14s in the tactical stock, but people claim it is out of state picture so no proof. If you want to see people post illegal guns go on the Recycler Classified. I always see a mini 14 in tactical stock with a 20 or forty round magazine. M1 Carbines with pistol grips and 30 round magazines.
I know, it not illegal to own a hicap before 2000 but they are offering for sale which is illegal. I seen the same M1 carbine on a few different posting, maybe a sting operation, I even contacted the seller and told him about the illegal layout of the rifle and no response, I suspect it is an undercover sting.Last edited by dmcag69; 09-26-2010, 11:12 AM.Comment

Minis with any evil features can be made complient with a Defense Industries .us mag lock.
ANYTHING illegal in anyway I feel should be emailed to a moderator to pull. Lets keep CGN clean.Comment

Put a flash hider on it and it's no longer featureless.
It can have a compensator, but not a FH.
Ruger offers 6 versions of the Mini-14. Only the "ranch" and "target" versions are CA legal out of the box. The other three have "evil features" and would require a mag lock.
