    *&%*&$ Ups

I swear I hate UPS, since when does it take anyone 7 days to get from Texas to the PRK?

I ordered a Larue scope mount last Tuesday or so and its lastest update via UPS tracking is: Your package is on time with a scheduled delivery date of 05/23/2007. HUH?

I called up Larue and they didnt ship until yesterday??? which sucks but then a guy has to wait another 7 days for the part to get here...what do they do the box when it gets to Oakland/Richmond today? Do they stick it in the corner for a few days until its kicked around enough to put on a truck to come to my house?

Im going to make it a point to ask vendors who is handling the package and stick with guys who use USPS, I needed a few things and within 2 days I had my goods from 10%, my buddy called on a SPR barrel from GTS and it came in 2 days and that guy is FL or something.

On a positive note, if you ship via normal UPS ground from CA to CA, your box usually arrives the next day.

Also, UPS usually doen't drop your DPMS 308 AP4 upper from a very high place, high enough so the changing handled gets bent all to *@#$, like FedEX does. Someday FedEX is going to not screw up a shipment of mine. The 14-@#$%-up-in-a-row streak they are on right now seems to just get longer and longer.....

I don't expect great things from the post office, but when it isn't xmas time, they seem to be putting a lot of regular 1st class things on air freight since the cargo planes seem to have enough space during the off season.

USPS is probably the one's I get most frusterated with. They can't do anything right.

I did the math and if it shipped on the 17th the 23rd is only 4 days(business days that is) shipping. You can't count the 17th or the weekend days 19th, 20th. UPS doesn't handle ground packages on sat. or sun. I used to work in a warehouse. Hope this helps in planning out future ordering.

When I order something VIA ups I try to order either on the weekends or Monday. Just makes me feel better that my spent money isn't being wasted during weekend delays.

Yep, ordering it on Tuesday was my first mistake, second wasnt finding a place that would use USPS, I think just about everyone who sells his scope mounts have the same price but like I said a barrel only took 2 days from Dennys for a pal of mine so even counting the "non-working days" I still say they suck. Im still not sure why it didnt leave on Wednesday but it didnt.

Man, people are sure impatient now days.

I put in an order to Sarco for a couple of hundred bucks worth of 1911 parts on April 23rd.

On April 30th they issued me an order number and told me that they would charge my CC when it ships.

Yesterday they charged my credit card and I'll probably get it in a week or so.

No big deal, it'll get here sooner or later.

"What can brown do for you?"

Well, they can start by pulling their thumb out of their 5th point of contact and get me my damned package.

I like UPS for the most part, USPS is the one I can't stand, always a hassle with them...

FedEx is okay... but if I had to pick any it would be UPS.

Last time I ordered ammo from ammuition to go in Texas it took a little longer for UPS to get it here. Problem was not for it to get from Texas to CA, it was getting it from the shipping center in Vernon (near DT LA) to North Orange County. From the tracking # I could see that it sat almost 2 days before it finally arrived to my house. I probably could have walked over there and picked it up myself in less time. No big deal really I just found that kind of funny.

I'm going through the same thing right now (although LaRue pulled a fast one and gave me a bogus shipping date at first).

It seems like UPS holds your shipments for 5 days no matter what state you purchase from!

I had an order that took 5 days from AZ no less?

I have been ordering from Brownells for many many years and I used to often get my stuff in 3 days. Now it takes 5 no matter what.

USPS is always 3 days but unfortunately many venders (like LaRue) do not offer it as a shipping option.

I haven't had problems with UPS delivering stuff, I have very low expectations for them and they live up to my expectations. I do have problems shipping with UPS because the people at the UPS counter at San Ramon don't like guns. They wouldn't even let me ship a M1 to Fulton until I made several calls to their corporate HQ to get someone to remind the manager of the San Ramon hub their corporate policies. Now I use Fedex or USPS for shipping if I can.
