Yea you can. Go check out the rifle section here and the 2nd Amendment section too. You will need a part is called a bullet button. Search is your friend but use the one called. CGN Google search at the top of the page. the other one sucks. The part that is considered the firearm is the lower.

If you are under 21, you must purchase the completed rifle.
Stripped lowers cannot be sold to anyone under 21.

To add, the only part that needs to go through the DROS process is the lower receiver.

The lower is what is considered the firearm. Theres plenty of good deals in our marketplace on lowers find one with the rollmark you like best and purchase it and do the proper paperwork at your FFL! Add a LPK and stock and your lower is complete! Take the time to read and learn and do your homework on upper manufacturers and decide for yourself which upper you want and buy it! (I highly reccomend BCM) Once its complete dont forget to post pics and show it off!

Are you looking to build an AR just to go through the process of building it yourself? Or are you wanting an AR and this is how someone told you can get one?

If its the latter, go to Turners in Azusa or Gunslingers in Glendora and you can see what they have in stock complete. (With all the legal features you need)

Otherwise, there is a lot of great material on here to read to really educate yourself and find out what all the fun is about.

Also, make sure you understand this document Inside and Out:

I would like to build one. I was under the impresion that their LAR 15 was legal based on the list, and what I have read. When i emailed them, I was told they do not ship rifles or lowers to CA. I am just a bit unclear.

I would start by making contact with a vendor local to you that stocks lowers instead of trying to bring one in from a Manuf:

BUY, SELL, & TRADE guns. Law Enforcement and civilian sales. TRANSFER DEALER. California legal. We ship worldwide.
