    How could anyone hate shooting?

The best "shooter" Ive ever shot with hated shooting, but he needed to know how to do it well over his lifetime, being in the military, then police, then as an academy instructor.

He seemed to get by just fine realizing that it was a tool.

I'm a hunter, I shoot my rifles to keep in practice for hunting.

I practice and compete with my handguns because I want to keep proficient for carrying.

I'm a gun lover, and I love my guns. Unfortunately, I just don't have the time to take them out to the range to shoot them on a regular basis. I'm lucky if I can take them out once a month, which I try to do, but it doesn't always happen. I take care of my almost-2-year-old daughter while my wife works on the weekends, so it's hard to get out to the range. Usually, the only time I'm able to go is if my wife happens to have a day off on one of the days.

So, I guess you can say that I'm not much of a shooter. But I prefer to think of it as building anticipation until the next time I can go to the range. Then it's on like Donkey Kong.

Vietnam vet and in multiple gunfights as a police officer.

That would do it for me.

Glad to see you are still alive, sir.

Realistically, I am a gun lover at this point--though I do have a shooter mentality.

Before I turned of age about a couple years ago, I used to go around saying that I'd buy this gun, and that gun, and so on (like SKS, SMLE, K-31, M-39, Mauser, etc, etc)...

I still like those guns, but I've since come to re-arrange my priorities of having a basic number of firearms to learn how to shoot well. Ergo, if money allowed it, I'd be a shooter without a doubt.

I say both. Slow month 400 rounds.

I am in both but more of a gun lover than a shooter. I find myself getting more joy when buying a new gun than when I take that new gun to the range the first time. I guess it is the thrill of the hunt is more important than the kill.

                      I'd say both.

Before law school I'd shoot around 1K a month. Now that I'm in law school I shoot around 200 a month, if that.

Both - I shoot as much as I can but not as much as I want - twice a week - 1000 rounds a month.
