I think this is exactly what happened. These type of people will continue to complain to LE with the hope that the county prohibits shooting in the area. Unfortunately, enough complaints will result in such a regulation.

Informing someone like that you are a LEO will only get you in trouble at work. The best course of action is to tell him to get off your lawn or you'll call the Sheriff.

It would be a good idea to have a voice recorder on you to record such conversations, in case he claims that you threatened him, or some crap like that.

You are very right.. thats why I never do. And I cant stand ppl who play the LEO card... but to the forum, I just wanted to reference my job as meaning, I know how to use my firearms and I know gun safety!

You should be commended for not using the LE card with an irate a-hole. Thats a good way to get a complaint in your file. If the guy had been cool about it, telling him your were LE might have put his mind at ease about safety.

Im not far from you in Amador County and its pretty pro gun. There are some PITA transplants, but the only time i hear about shots fired are at night...which is more understandable.
