I grew up in Shingle Springs, on Green Valley Rd. I used to have the sheriff called on me a lot for plinking, and this was back in the 80's. Now with all the population growth I can only guess how uptight everyone is.

Because a-holes like that are likely to make a citizen's complaint and accuse you of misconduct. The less you have in your file the better.

More than likely the city dweller neighbor would call the department and complain. No need to get a political type manager involved.

Next time you want to shoot ask him to join you. Lets him know you are going to shoot and he's welcome to come along. Maybe he's got a daughter.

To do it right, I think you need a group shoot & bbq at the property with tannerite, and black powder cannons.

But in all seriousness, It's a shame to have people like what you encountered complaining about your shooting that's done lawfully.

I'll tell you it's the noise, and self induced paranoia that follows. My uncle in CO. had this same issue with his neighbors when we were shooting on the back of his property. Neighbor claimed rounds flying over house, which was impossible, we had the proper back stop and dirt hill, on the other side was acres of empty land, and the neighbor was 180 degrees from our firing direction.

The noise issue is why suppressors should be available, like other free states.

I had folks complain about me shooting with large rifles, m24/47, 30-06, 91/30. Left a message on my phone asking if I was shooting cannons...was tempted to fire off my golf ball cannon so they could know the difference but oh well; they were polite so now I take my rifles to another property I own near a local golf course heh.

But since he was being a dweeb I say let loose with the large calibers (during sensible hours), expense of the ammo is a down payment for skill.

I think I heard you 2 weeks ago. I live on the north side of the golf course and heard someone shooting rifles. I thought to myself dang there's a lucky guy. Wish my property was big enough to shoot on.
